Colorado has suspended two players less than a week before the Pac-12 championship game after an off-campus incident this past weekend.Colorado announced that wide receiver Jaleel Awini has been suspended indefinitely and that tight end Chris Hill has been suspended for Fridays conference title game against Washington.The Boulder Police Department confirmed to ESPN that Awini is facing charges of possession of cocaine as well as a citation for a failure to appear for a court date for a previous urinating in public charge. Hill was cited for third-degree assault.The Denver Post reported that Awini and Hill had been kicked out of a bar off campus and that Hill had punched Awini, knocking him unconscious. Awini was booked at the Boulder County Jail on Sunday.The Colorado athletic department issued a statement Monday saying that Buffaloes coach Mike MacIntyre is fully aware of the situation and is disappointed to hear of this incident.Neither Awini nor Hill has been a key player for the Buffaloes this season. SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Notre Dame cornerback accused of tackling a police officer and punching him in the side and stomach during an altercation outside a bar was charged Tuesday with felony counts of resisting law enforcement and battery against a public safety official.Devin Butler was arrested Saturday and released on a $1,000 bond, but St. Joseph County Prosecutor Kenneth P. Cotter requested more time to investigate the case and determine what charges were appropriate.Butler is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. He couldnt be reached for comment Tuesday because he has an unlisted phone number. Court records dont indicate he has hired an attorney.Butlers arrest came hours after five other teammates were arrested in Fulton County, about 40 miles south of South Bend. As officers tried to detain Butler, he pushed one officer and then tackled him and began striking him and pulled off his duty belt, the affidavit says.Police said they needed to use a stun gun to subdue him. They said the officer Butler tackled was treated at a hospital for injuries to his elbow, neck, back and arm.
